Profile

Research focuses on the documentation, description and theoretical analysis of different languages. Language comparison also plays a major role here. We are particularly interested in phenomena from the fields of morphology, syntax and semantics.

We are currently researching Oceanic languages, Bantu languages, Grassfields, Semitic and Romance languages.

In teaching, the focus is on methods of data collection, work with typological databases, qualitative analysis and theoretical argumentation.
